Fairtrade Fortnight 2023: 27 February – 12 March

Our theme this year was… FOOD!

This means the focus could have been on any aspect of Fairtrade and food to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2023. This included, climate change and food production, Fairtrade procurement or food security to name but a few.

Food is at the heart of Fairtrade and intersects with climate change, gender, livelihoods and every other aspect of Fairtrade. Look here for somewhere to buy Fairtrade food.

What is Fairtrade Fortnight?

Each year Fairtrade Fortnight gives people across the UK the opportunity to celebrate Fairtrade achievements and learn more about the difference that Fairtrade makes.

Fairtrade Fortnight in Wales is supported by the Welsh Government and Hub Cymru Africa.

What did we do?

Community Connections: A Fair Trade Supper

We had a night of delicious Fairtrade food and stories and we learned about the people who produce the food and drink we consume everyday.

For residents under 25 in the Vale of Glamorgan

The successful Vale of Glamorgan Youth Competition returns. This year the theme is: Choose Fairtrade now and help save our favourite foods. Like every year, we partnered with community groups around Wales to hold events and engaged with policy and the public on Fairtrade.

Let us know how your event went by emailing info@fairtradewales.org.uk.

We have uploaded new bilingual teachers and assembly resources to our website, and have new resources for campaigners including a Fair Trade certificate.
