We partnered with Co-op member activator Clare Bowman, and Jenipher of Jenipher’s Coffi, to shed light on Fairtrade Fortnight to the young people of Cardiff.

Students learnt about the difference that their small purchasing swaps can make for producers and farmers worldwide, such as Jenipher, a familiar face to many Fair Trade supporters in Wales. 

Jenipher Sambazi is a coffee farmer from Uganda who has been growing coffee since 1992 and set up the Fairtrade Jeniphers Coffi brand in 2020.

Buying Fair Trade means helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change, and supports independent farmers and their communities to become more resilient to the weather extremes they increasingly face. 

This Fairtrade Fortnight, we are reminded of the hardships being faced by producers globally, but also, of the life changing impact that Fair Trade makes for people all over the world.
