Inspiring the Next Generation of Changemakers

Changemakers Conference, Temple of Peace, Cardiff – July 2025

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of attending another Changemakers Conference hosted at the Temple of Peace in Cardiff. The event focused on the importance of youth-led action on issues that matter – from their everyday choices to the bigger picture.

Fair Trade Wales were proud to be part of the event, alongside organisations such as Wales Peace Schools and Youth Climate Ambassadors, who shared their work with the students and inspired their own conversations about justice, ethics, and global citizenship. We were thrilled to meet lots of curious young people who were interested in how the small choices we make – like the food we eat or the clothes we wear – can make a real difference to people and the planet.

Throughout the session, we spoke to students about what fair trade means, the impact of fair trade, and why it’s so important to champion sustainability and fairness in global supply chains. To mark Children’s Art Week, we also invited pupils to get creative with a drawing activity focusing on fair trade.

In the spirit of the day’s theme – being changemakers – we were reminded that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow, but the catalysts of today. Their energy, creativity, and concern for justice reinforce why community events like these are vital in keeping the momentum for change going.

Together, we can continue to inspire the young changemakers of tomorrow.
