Last Wednesday, we teamed up with Co-op, Barnardo’s, and Breathe Creative Anadl to mark Great Big Green Week – a UK-wide celebration of local action on climate change.

The event brought together shoppers and the local community in Canton to explore simple, everyday ways we can all reduce our impact on the planet. From climate-friendly recipes to sustainable shopping tips, there was something for everyone to take away.

On the day, there were lots of lovely freebies up for grabs – including Fairtrade chocolate, sunflower plants, and paper fans to be painted. The raffle gave people the chance to win a hamper packed with Fairtrade goodies – a fun way to highlight how choosing Fairtrade helps farmers and workers around the world.

The whole event was a reminder that small changes really do add up. Whether it’s switching to Fairtrade tea or supporting ethical brands, every choice matters.

A big thanks to Co-op Canton for hosting and for their ongoing commitment to sustainability – and to everyone who stopped by for a chat, picked up a leaflet, or joined the raffle.
