Today we are formally introducing our newest team member, Millie Belding, who has joined us at Fair Trade Wales! Get to know Millie…

Who are you, and  what is your background before Fair Trade Wales?

I’ve always been passionate about sustainability, ethical consumption and community action. Growing up on my grandfather’s farm in Wales, I developed a deep connection with nature and animals, which led me to pursue projects focused on environmental issues, including plastic pollution and sustainable design.

Since graduating from Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2022, I’ve worked in digital content creation and social media, including freelance projects for non-profits like Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival and Benthyg Cymru, where I used creative media to connect with audiences and promote social change.

Why is Fairtrade important to you?

Fair Trade is a movement which empowers producers, protects the planet and connects communities. Having spent time working with sustainability-focused projects and seeing firsthand the importance of ethical sourcing, I’ve seen that small actions can lead to meaningful change.

What are your visions for the future of Fair Trade Wales?

I want to help make Fair Trade visible and engaging to communities across Wales. I’m looking forward to working closely with grassroots communities, reaching wider audiences through digital storytelling and social media, and hopefully to inspire action and grow the movement.

What is your favourite Fairtrade product?

Clipper Organic Fairtrade Tea! I love that Clipper uses natural alternatives to pesticides and chemical fertilisers, producing high-quality, organic tea leaves. Plus, their unbleached, biodegradable tea bags make them a perfect sustainable choice!
