Pop Cycle is delighted to win another Great Taste Gold Star for our Fairtrade Orange ice lolly.

We are based in Swansea and make fruity ice lollies full of fresh fruit & flavour. We’ve been lucky enough to win several Great Taste gold stars for our flavours and Pop Cycle are now recognised as a Great Taste Producer.

Our latest star is for the Orange lolly which is a big favourite with our customers in parks and at events. All of the pops are vegan and you can compost the packs in your garden. They are also small size so appropriate for a small treat.

Why Fairtrade?

We always seek out Fairtrade oranges for this recipe as Fairtrade is really important to us. Not only are the ingredients top quality but also empower farmers to improve their communities. Some of our flavours include:

I’m lucky enough to have visited Fair Trade producer communities in India and Ghana. I’ve seen producers discuss the health benefits of organic farming methods and how to administer their premium – the extra money producer communities get on top of the Fairtrade guaranteed price. I’ve also seen how traditional crafts are preserved in Egypt. We have had Fairtrade cashew nut and banana producers stay with us as part of Swansea Fair Trade Forum and during Fair Trade Wales producer tours. We also like to link up with Fair Trade wholesalers such as JTS.

A highlight in our special events diary was producing dessert pops for the International Fair Trade Towns Conference in 2019 at the National Assembly of Wales. The esteemed international audience loved the Coffee Choc and Cardamom pops we made specially for the evening.
